The Bok Homa Casino
The Bok Homa Casino, a new casino in the rural community in Mississippi, just had its grand opening on Monday. The Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians invited Wayne Newton of Las Vegas to join them in the event. He took part in the opening of the Silver Star Casino there as well, in 1993.
The Choctaw’s chief Beasley Denson explained that the casino was a big step for the state of Mississippi. “We have revved the engine of economic development in south Central Mississippi,” said. “When we opened the Silver Star Casino sixteen years ago, the facility looked much like the building you see here today. As was said in a classic baseball movie Field of Dreams; ‘if you build it, they will come.’ That has certainly been true of the Pearl River Resort and it will be true here at Bok Homa.”
This event may be the beginning of a brighter era for the gaming industry. Certainly the opening of this casino, as well as many others, is wonderful news for gaming enthusiasts and companies, such as Sightline Payments with Kirk Sanford.
